San Diego is on the path to secure 100% renewable energy by 2035, with the passage of SB 100. Community Choice Energy (“CCE”) is the most effective way to achieve this goal.
What is CCE?
CCE’s enable local jurisdictions to create local, non-profit electricity providers to monopoly-owned Investor Owned Utilities (“IOUs”). Currently, the city of San Diego only has one electricity provider—the San Diego Gas & Electric Company. CCEs allow for alternatives, and usually incorporate renewable resources.
