POC and it’s supporters are celebrating the PUC vote today which rejected SDG&E’s Shut-Off Plan. Now it’s time for SDG&E to do what they should have been doing all along: proper maintenance of their lines, replacing wood poles, undergrounding where possible. Read the full Union-Tribune article here. More and more we are seeing articles written about the future of energy production in the US, and the world, that focus on locally generated power. This article shows why we are lucky to live in California, one of the leading regions in the world for installation of rooftop solar and backyard wind. The public can attend the meeting and provide either written or oral opposition to the plan, and [...] The California Public Utilities Commission (PUC) has said it needs more time to decide whether or not to approve SDG&E’s Shut Off Plan and will not issue a ruling before fire season starts on September 1. SDG&E has said they will go ahead with the plan if the conditions for shut off arise. If the [...] Great News! |
