CPUC’S IRP Proceeding

On June 17, 2021 the California Public Utilities Commission held an “All-Party Meeting” to discuss the proposed and alternate proposed decisions pending before the Commission regarding the procurement of 11,500 MW of new electricity generation capacity. Utility Dive covered the meeting and featured The Protect Our Communities Foundation’s (PCF) comments and recommendations. PCF recommends that the Commission approve the full 11,500 MW but remove the requirements for fossil-fueled generation.
