POC and it’s supporters are celebrating the PUC vote today which rejected SDG&E’s Shut-Off Plan. Now it’s time for SDG&E to do what they should have been doing all along: proper maintenance of their lines, replacing wood poles, undergrounding where possible. Today the attorney representing POC, along with ECCAC, BAD, and Donna Tisdale, sent a lengthy letter to Supervisor William Metz of Cleveland National Forest, outlining the reasons why he should not approve the construction of the Sunrise Powerlink on Forest land. You can read the Press Release and letter for more details. The ECCAC property rights workshop was attended by almost 90 landowners impacted by the Sunrise Powerlink. They were presented with an overview of the project, an update of the legal filings, and information about their rights concerning eminent domain procedures.
