Alpine Town Hall Meeting RecapThanks so much to everyone who came out for Dianne Jacob’s Town Hall meeting in Alpine last Thursday. I personally talked to people from all over the county, not just Alpine. They were here to show their support for our cause and voice their opposition to SDG&E’s flawed and short-sighted plan. For a recap and some quotes from speakers at the meeting, please see this great article in the East County Magazine. You can also view the slide show presented by County staff at the meeting, showing impacts and details of construction along Alpine Blvd here. 1 comment to Alpine Town Hall Meeting Recap |

We have been fighting SDG@E since October 2009 when we made them hold a public hearing where their project manager said they were going to do a “like for like” wood to steel pole replacement on the line running from the unregulated Orange Grove energy plant into Fallbrook. We fought them at the CPUC because they do not have an easement for the amount of capacity they currenty have on their line.We have owned this property since 1959.They have only a twelve foot easement and they are outside of it. We won twice at the CPUC but in NOV. one of the commission’s staff said they could proceed as long they settled with us. You can read our story in thevillagenews/SDGE poles or in the Ag Alert this week . Three weeks ago with no notice, out of nine miles of poles, they showed up at our property first with an army of subcontractors. They put up poles that are triple in size and thirty feet higher then our old poles. They cut our gate ,broke our bridge by taking cemment trucks across. We don’t have the financial means to fight this big corporation and they know it.They do not tell the truth and no one is monitoring them. They do retaliate. Your organization is wonderful and we will come to your rally but they have already started on the regridding with us. If you have any thoughts or ideas please email me, read our story.
