SEMPRA’s Dirty Little Secret

As mentioned in the previous post, a SEMPRA lobbyist allegedly had an affair with a California State Assemblyman who was vice chair of the Utilities and Commerce Committee and whose duties included overseeing the energy companies and policy in California. There is a another dirty little secret SEMPRA and SDG&E desperately don’t want people to be aware of, and will deny at any turn. As POC has been saying for years now, the intention of these utilities is not to bring green energy to the people of San Diego, but rather to import dirty fossil fuels, imported from unstable foreign countries to unregulated power plants south of the border. This article gives a clear image of the energy future of San Diego if we don’t stand up to them now.

I agree that Sempra and SDGE import dirty power, what is cute is that they not only import it they built and own the plants. Now they say there is no need for the Chula Vista plant they sold for a profit??
Simple solution: The US government should (for clean air) make a very simple law - ‘Any power imported to the US must come from plants that meet US and port of entry States environmental laws or it can not be imported’ and of course the US must be allowed to setup proper monitoring. We would not be interfering with foreign governments beyond the requirement that if they want to sell to us and thus why wouldn’t that be an easy law.
    Thats it for now
