Judge Recommends PUC Reject Shut-Off PlanIn a blow to SDG&E’s proposed Shut-Off Plan, Administrative Law Judge Timothy Kenney recommend the Public Utilities Commission reject the plan outright. This article in the San Diego Union Tribune gives details about the judges decision, and an alternate decision proposed by commissioner Timothy Simon. Among Simon’s stipulations are veto power for local officials, longer advanced notice before a shut off, and no absolute immunity for SDG&E if they shut off power. The commission is scheduled to decide on September 10. We will keep a close eye on this decision and there will be some tough questions for the PUC if they ignore another Administrative Law Judge in favor of SDG&E, as they did on the Sunrise Powerlink. |
