PUC Delays Ruling on Shut-Off PlanThe California Public Utilities Commission (PUC) has said it needs more time to decide whether or not to approve SDG&E’s Shut Off Plan and will not issue a ruling before fire season starts on September 1. SDG&E has said they will go ahead with the plan if the conditions for shut off arise. If the PUC later rules against the plan, then SDG&E will abide by that ruling. Another UT article on July 22 reports on a call for an ethics investigation into whether or not SDG&E manipulated testimony during hearings for the Shut-Off Plan. It has been revealed that several letters from public officials supporting the plan were written by SDG&E, and that many people who testified in favor of the plan had relationships with SDG&E that they did not reveal during their testimony.
